A graduate of both The Master’s College and Hope International University, Mike began serving at Valley in 1997, and was called to the Lead Pastor role in 2005. Mike’s deepest passion is connecting people from all walks of life to Christ. The loves of his life: Jesus, his beautiful and amazing wife Carla, and his two remarkable sons, Christian & Cayden (who are entering their teenage years, so he covets your prayers). Things he enjoys: the LA Dodgers, racquetball, chips & salsa, and Jelly Beans!
Pastor of Children
A graduate of Hope International University, Kim joined the Valley family back in 1997 with a passion to teach children about Jesus. Over the years, that passion to teach and encourage kids and their families has only deepened. When she’s not wrangling small humans, you’ll find Kim on some sort of epic, outdoor adventure. She has a bowling average of 140, roots for the Cornhuskers and Steelers, likes country music (but not the new stuff because it’s not real country), and has a love/hate (but mostly love) relationship with her cats.
M Douglass Otten
Doug is passionate about leadership built on the “Two Greatest Commandments” and the “Great Commission.” These Christ-given and time-tested truths allow Doug to be a conduit for transformation, while never losing sight of the fundamentals that provide strong foundations that allow for adaptation, improvisation, and the ability to overcome the constant change present in our world today. Doug has been married to the lovely Ellie for 20 years, and they enjoy going on awesome adventures together.
Pastor of Missions
After a successful career as an engineer, God impressed upon Frank a desire to reach the world for Jesus. He began directing our ministry in 2003, and has since led teams to our Mexico missions, to Hurricane Katrina disaster sites, and to our partner ministries in Kenya. Frank enjoys his wife Carol, fishing whenever he can, and his beautiful grandchildren.
As yet another graduate of Hope International University, Trevor joined Valley in 2017. A 10-year Student Ministries survivor, Trev brings experiences from all over the West Coast to Valley’s Student Ministries department. Ever since he first started seeking Christ, Trev’s greatest passion has been serving others and loving people where they are at. This extensive love for others springs up from the numerous occasions where he himself was the benefactor of others extending love to him. When it comes to the great loves of Trev’s life, Jesus wins. Honorable second-place mentions: His wife, Mary, sons, Kai and Cooper, family and friends. When not wrangling youths, Trev enjoys the Dodgers, softball, golf, videography, ukulele, and building random things.
Sandy joined the Valley staff as Office Manager in September of 2015. A talented and gracious hostess, wife, and mom, Sandy is a bit of a Renaissance woman who has worked in banking, administration, and was even the proprietor of a Hallmark store! Sandy was blessed to be married to her husband, George, for 52 years, and together they served in several local churches, always with a heart for supporting those in mission fields around the world. Sandy is incredibly proud of her sons Danny and Randy, and daughter-in-law, Laura.
Kyle Simmons, aka “MacGyver”, tackles every challenge with determination and excellence. Valley’s resident Jack-Of-All-Trades, Kyle is a graduate of Cal Poly Pomona with more than 15 years of Sound Design and Engineering experience who has mixed for everything from small concert venues to large convention centers, and even country artist, Kenny Chesney! When he’s not busy working on his Master’s Degree, Kyle can usually be found either remodeling houses, rock climbing, hanging out at the river, or voiding warranties. Surprisingly, he does not drink coffee.

Part of the Valley family since 2002, Billy’s warm smile and pleasant personality make it is easy for him to start a conversation with people, whether it is with family on the patio, or strangers in the community. His personal touch reaches out to the sick and shut-in, both of which are very close to his heart. Along with his wife Dean, he co-host a K-Life group at the church. He loves to fish (although he doesn’t get to the lake as often as he’d like) and enjoys listening to audio books. Billy is husband to Dean, and Dad to Candice and Lance (and daughter-in-law, Lindsey).
Part of the Valley family for nearly 20 years, Kim has played many roles, many of them onstage in Christmas productions, skits, and announcements. His most beloved role, however, is that of Games Leader and Grand Prix Master of Ceremonies for Valley’s AWANA clubs. While his Valley family may love him for his quick wit and easy-going nature, his great loves are his family: wife, Jill, and daughters, Sarah and Melissa, to whom he’s passed on his love of film and creative artistry. In his spare time, Kim enjoys watching old movies, and spending time with his family.
In 2011, Rick and his family began worshiping at Valley after moving to the area from Northern California. The Lins quickly realized that they had found their new church home and have greatly enjoyed their new (and growing!) spiritual family. Rick and his wife have led classes on peacemaking and take seriously the Christian’s calling as peacemakers, both within the church body and among the community. Rick has been blessed with his beloved wife, Peggy, and their two children, Luke and Bella.
